NAME: 911 Simulator
Topic: General Farm Safety
GOAL: The 911 Simulator is an interactive way to teach young children what to expect if they should have to call in an emergency. In the "Golden Minute" that it takes a child to take part in the most realistic of simulations, you can feel comfortable that they are better prepared to aid someone in the event of an actual emergency.
Important note: This item can only be checked out by Farm Bureau members.
NAME: Danger Zone
TOPIC: Age Appropriate Tasks
GOAL: 4'x4' banner raises awareness that parents must make decisions based on the young persons ability, awareness and age before giving them jobs on the farm /ranch.
NAME: Animal Safety Display (Felt)
TOPIC: Safety Around Animals
GOAL: Use board and felt animals in different positions and situations to talk about the dangers of being around large farm animals without an adult and the ways to be safe around these animals.

 

NAME: Animals & Mass Force (Ramp)
TOPIC: Safety Around Livestock
GOAL: The goal of this display is to teach children and their families the importance of staying away from large animals especially when the mothers are very protective of their young.

NAME: Animals & General Farm Safety (Magnetic Board)
TOPIC: Safety Around Farm Animals
GOAL: To teach young school age children and their families the importance of respecting the territory where the farm animals live, the importance of not being in that territory without an adult, and how animals are very protective of their young.
This item cannot be shipped, but can be picked up in the Fargo office.
 
NAME: Chemical Look-A-Likes
TOPIC: Chemical Look-A-Likes
GOAL: Raise awareness of chemicals, and even medicines being mistaken by a child as a food or beverage. It is very important to keep them out of reach and in a locked area.
NAME: The Gravity Flow Wagon or Acrylic Grain Bin
TOPIC: Grain Safety
GOAL: Teach your audience the importance of NOT being in grain wagon/bin that is going to be unloaded because you can become trapped in a matter of seconds and suffocate in the grain.
 
NAME: Head Over Wheels
TOPIC: Tractor over turns
GOAL: To teach the audience the importance of tractor safety, how important it is for the tractor operator to wear the seat belt with the ROPS. How easy it is for a tractor to overturn.
NAME: Hazard Hunt/Farm Scene
TOPIC: Hidden Hazards on the Farm
GOAL: To teach the audience the importance of tractor safety, how important it is for the tractor operator to wear the seat belt with the ROPES. How easy it is for a tractor to overturn.

NAME: Helmets For Safety
TOPIC: The importance of wearing helmets for a variety of activities
GOAL: The goal of the display is to help your audience understand the importance of wearing a helmet when operating an ATV, when riding a horse or a bicycle or using in-line skates.
NAME: Pinch Points
TOPIC: Pinch Points on Farm Equipment
GOAL: Raise awareness that pinch points usually cause major injuries and it is important to have shields in place to avoid getting caught in Pinch Points.

NAME: Quiz Board "Beep Board"
TOPIC: 1. Grain Safety
2. General Farm Safety Questions
GOAL: 1. To raise awareness of the hazards of working around grain and grain storage hazards. 2. Testing for knowledge of general farm safety questions.
NAME: Wheel of Misfortune
TOPIC: Reaction Time
GOAL: To teach the audience the importance of avoiding contact with equipment that will injure them, due to low reaction time.

GOAL: Each topic area will educate young children on safety issues and how to avoid injury. If you have an older youth (12 and up) who would be your puppeteers, that would be great. They learn while using the puppets.
