Corn Harvest
Janice loves living in rural North Dakota, but one of her favorite times of the year is harvest. Join her as she takes us through a eastern North Dakota corn harvest.
A good harvest
The sun is shining on this harvest! And after 54 years of living on the farm, I wouldn't change places with anyone. The farm is a wonderful place to raise a family, and that family will have had the privilege of learning to work hard, to enjoy work and to treasure the quiet times and the fun times when the work is done.
If you don't know a farmer, you should find one you can visit. You will learn many lessons that you just won't find in a book. I grew up in a city, but I learned to really look at the beautiful things in nature from my husband, who had always lived on the farm.
I watched my farmer husband go around many Killdeer nests so the eggs could hatch, even though he would lose crops.
The farmers I know are the best conservationists. They love and cherish the land and know they must take good care of it, if the land is to take care of them.
