Scholarship recipients announced

Eleven individuals from around the state have been awarded scholarships through the North Dakota Farm Bureau Foundation.
The scholarships are a project of the NDFB Promotion and Education (P&E) Committee. This year, $6,000 in scholarships were awarded.
“Supporting the education of our young people is a major goal of our committee,” said Promotion and Education Committee chairman Kimberly Lemieux. “We also thank all those who support this scholarship program by giving to the NDFB Foundation.”
The Becki Palmer Scholarship for High School Seniors honors a North Dakota Farm Bureau employee who lost her battle with cancer in 2006. Winners of this $500 scholarship are: Devin Arnold of Esmond, Wyatt Bachmeier of Granville, Kaydee Brown of Crosby, Preston Gilderhus of Oberon, Chelsey Schafer of New Rockford and Alexus Schemoinek of Penn.
The Farm Bureau Family Member Scholarship is awarded to a current Farm Bureau member or family member who has or will have completed their freshman year of college. Winners of the two $500 scholarships are Michelle Jensen of Bismarck and Gina Vosberg of Wyndmere.
The NDFB Agriculture Scholarship is for an undergraduate student majoring in agriculture that has completed or will be completing their freshman year of post-secondary school. Winners of this $500 scholarship are Alexander Brodal of Columbus and Sara Scott of Spiritwood.
Winner of the $1,000 Graduate Scholarship is Mariah Heaton of Driscoll. The Farm Bureau Graduate Level scholarship is for any Farm Bureau member wishing to complete his or her master’s degree or doctorate.
Applications for the 2012 scholarships will be available in early January 2012, on the NDFB Web site at www.ndfb.org/edusafe/scholarships. Scholarship applications are due March 15 each year
