You may have heard that hormones in foods, particularly meat and dairy, are a big problem. Are they really causing early puberty in children. In a word? No. Food has always contained hormones. And, you might be surprised to learn which foods contain the most hormones.
Here is a graphic from 97Milk.com that illustrates why you shouldn't be concerned at all about hormones in your food.
According to Sherry Bunting, an agriculture writer and former dairywoman from Pennsylvania, "All of these levels are super small. One nanogram is equal to one billionth of a gram, or 25 billionths of an ounce. Hormones are in all foods because all food is from living organisms -- plants or animals -- so unless we are eating a rock, we are consuming hormones that our bodies don't really recognize as hormones."
