Barnyard Bunch: The Awesome World of Animal Agriculture
North Dakota’s farm animals play a vital role in our everyday lives, from providing food and resources to supporting local communities. To celebrate this, NDFB is sponsoring a drawing contest for fourth and fifth grade students as part of NDFB Week, March 9-15.
This contest invites 4th and 5th graders to showcase the amazing animals that make up our “Barnyard Bunch” and to celebrate their contributions to agriculture.
Guidelines:
-
Artwork must portray at least one farm animal (e.g., cow, pig, chicken, sheep, goat, or horse) and their role in agriculture.
-
Participants should include one written fact about the animal(s) they feature, such as what they produce or why they are special.
-
Creativity counts! Students can use crayons, markers, colored pencils, paint, or any other drawing materials.
Eligibility:
Open to all 4th and 5th-grade students in North Dakota.
Prizes:
NDFB will award a winner in each grade in the following categories:
-
Creativity and originality of the theme
-
Quality of artistic composition and overall design
All four winners will receive a $50 prize, and their drawings will be published in NDFB’s newsletter, Focus.
