French toast is delicious. It’s also kind of a pain dealing with that eggy mixture that never seems to go as far as it should.
Busy farm mom Katie Heger found a great way to make French toast for her hungry family using one ingredient (besides the bread, we mean): Vanilla ice cream.

Ice Cream French Toast
Ingredients:
Six slices thick-sliced bread (Katie recommends Texas toast or thick-sliced French bread)
1 ½ cups melted vanilla ice cream
Instructions:
Preheat griddle to 250-300 degrees. Melt ice cream. Dip each slice of bread lightly in the ice cream. Cook on griddle until you see the ice cream that seeped out turn golden brown. Flip and cook 3-5 minutes on the other side.
Boom. That’s it. Katie says it’s seriously easy, sweet and gets a nice crunch to it.
