We're breaking out another Pantry Shelf recipe from the April 1993 issue of Dakota Family, NDFB's official publication back in the day.
Chewy Bread Sticks
Ingredients:
1 pkg yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 tablespoon honey
5 to 5 1/2 cups flour
butter
assorted seasonings
Instructions
Dissolve yeast in warm water; add honey. Gradually add flour; mix together and knead well. Let rise for 15 minutes. Cut into 32 pieces and roll into 10-inch rectangles. Put on a greased cookie sheet. Brush with melted butter; sprinkle with your preferred seasonings. (Some options are onion salt or powder, garlic salt or powder, Italian seasoning, or sesame seed.) Let rise for 10 minutes. Bake
at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
