Fruit up your table

As the hot days of summer hit us, you might be looking for a twist on a fresh fruit "salad."

We've got you covered with this unique, creative side dish. It's perfect for a family barbecue or pot-luck picnic.

Remember to keep cold foods cold. Use an ice chest and don't let your fruit salad sit in the hot sun! Safety first, you know!

Fresh Fruit Combo Salad

Dressing

1/4 cup frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed

1/4 cup honey

1/2 tsp. poppy seed

Dash of salt

Salad

2 cups red seedless grapes, halved

2 cups watermelon cubes

2 medium nectarines, slicedd

1 cup blueberries

1 medium orange, sliced

2  kiwifruit, peeled, sliced

Instructions

In a small jar with a tight-fitting lid, combine all dressing ingredients and shake well.

In a large bowl, combine all salad ingredients. Pour dressing over salad; toss gently to coat.

(Note: If you aren't a fan of any of the fruits listed above, feel free to swap them out for your favs. Other fruits that could be used are pears, peaches, green grapes, fresh pineapple or other melons.)
