Stress. We all have it no matter who you are. We all have a point where we are stressed out to the max. And, we all react differently to it.

I'm not a stress eater. I’m a stress worker-outer. It feels good to just forget about what’s stressing me out for a period of time. I can focus all my energy into helping me.

We each handle stress in our own way, but I encourage you to – no matter what – find that outlet to deal with it. And make it a positive one, instead of just letting it build. If you haven't tried working out, it might be something new to try. Or maybe running, yoga, or just dancing.

Most days on the farm it is just crazy chaos. I can only coordinate so much of it, especially working off farm in the field as well. People wonder how I can work out late at night, but I'll tell you when I've been sitting seeding cover crops or in a combine, usually with a bunch of disgruntled men, I need to have that time to just come down from the events of the day.

Yep, this is a stressor!

When you work with family, more often than not, it can get pretty heated because it's not like a job where you can just go home and get away from co-workers. You eat with them, sleep with them, and interact with them.

No matter what your occupation or role in your family, doing something small each day for yourself can make a difference. At least you'll be ready for the next thing life throws and you can say "bring it!"
