It's summer-summer

The calendar has clicked over to July. You know what that means? It’s summer-summer. After the whirlwind of Maycember, the month of June is a hazy school year hangover of trying to figure out where to put the kids, who has stickball practice and games, and where is the summer gear?
Then July happens. We have our bearings, we have our vacation goals, we have the end in sight for stickball and community theater, so it’s almost time. We are almost ready for that golden sliver of a couple weeks before pre-fall.
That golden sliver where the summer seems to still be an opportunity and not a fleeting moment of hope before being plunged into pre-fall.
Pre-fall is when the summer focus shifts to school starting, more rigid schedules, and cooler weather. It starts about August 8th. So enjoy the next couple of weeks of summer-summer before the golden sliver, because pre-fall is right around the corner. If you want proof, I saw back-to-school gear at the store and Halloween at Costco!
So while we’re still in summer-summer grab a marshmallow, graham cracker, and chocolate bar (with peanut butter if you’re sassy), because pre-fall is right around the freakin' corner.
