National Banana Bread Day

National Banana Bread Day

It's National Banana Bread Day. If you are one of those people (like me) who loves banana bread, but has a hard time making it without it getting overdone or doughy in the middle, I have a recipe that works for me most every time. Check it out!

Banana Bread

by Dawn Smith-Pfeifer

This recipe is from a 1977 cookbook from Grace Lutheran Church in Oakes. It got a star in the cookbook because it is hard to mess up (too done on the outside, doughy on the inside, that kind of thing!).

Ingredients:

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1/2 cup butter

3 Tbsp milk

2 cups flour

1 tsp soda

3 bananas (mashed)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease loaf pan well. Mix ingredients well in order given. Bake for 1 hour, 10 minutes. Let stand about 5 minutes before removing from pan.
