Farmhouse Skillet Mac and Cheese

Farmhouse Skillet Mac and Cheese

by Esther Donohue, The Phat Hen

June is Dairy Month, so it only seemed fitting to create a recipe that celebrates some of my favorite dairy products. This Farmhouse Skillet Mac and Cheese is made with plenty of cheese, milk, and cream, making it a true dairy lover’s dream.

One of my favorite things about this recipe is that it is made almost entirely in one skillet. Preparing the sauce and baking the mac and cheese in the same cast-iron skillet means fewer dishes to wash and an easy transition from the stovetop to the oven.

Recipes like this Farmhouse Skillet Mac and Cheese may feel simple and familiar, but they begin with the hard work of dairy farmers. From the milk and cream in the sauce to the butter in the breadcrumbs and, of course, all that delicious melted cheese, dairy products are what make this dish so comforting.

This mac and cheese is creamy, cheesy, flavorful, and topped with just the right amount of crunch. It is an easy one-pan dish that celebrates dairy farmers while bringing a warm, farmhouse-style meal to the family table. Get the recipe here.
