I am spoiled! Our 13-year-old made Swedish Meatballs and mashed potatoes COMPLETELY on his own and FROM SCRATCH!!
It's hard to make Swedish meatballs look appealing since it's a blah colored dish, but trust me it was super yummy.
He didn’t measure anything (we don’t tend to in our house) but what is included in the recipe are my best guesses. We just sprinkle and taste as we go, or go on how it smells and looks!
Here is what he did:
Swedish Meatballs
2 lbs. ground beef
2 lbs. ground pork
1 cup Panko bread crumbs
1 egg
Sea salt
¼ tsp. Cayenne
Cajun seasoning (best guess, 1-2 tsp. depending on your taste)
3 Tbs. Parsley
1 ½ Tbs. Dried minced onion
Black pepper to taste
Salt to taste
Mix well and fry in a cast iron pan in bacon grease
Sauce/gravy:
1 stick butter
3 tsp. flour
Heavy cream until you have desired thickness
