When you just want dessert

When you just want dessert

Have you ever just craved a nice, warm piece of cake for dessert, but didn't feel like making a whole cake? (Or didn't have enough of the ingredients?)

This is one of those handy, dandy recipes you might want to keep around for when you want your cake and to eat it too. And to top it off, it's a pice of cake to make. Literally. (Okay, that was a groaner of a joke, but it's Friday!)

Microwave Cake in a Cup

By Nate Schlief

Ingredients:

4 Tbsp all-purpose flour

4 Tbsp sugar

2 Tbs. unsweetened cocoa

1 egg

3 Tbsp milk

3 Tbsp vegetable oil

Handful of chocolate chips

Instructions:

Spray a microwave safe large coffee cup with cooking spray. Add flour, then sugar and cocoa in the mug. Blend dry ingredients together.

Add milk, oil and 1 egg. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Gently stir until well combined. Place in microwave and cook for 3 minutes.

If desired, add a scoop of ice cream or whip cream and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
