Hello! My name is Jenna Aasmundstad. I live in Devils Lake and work for CHS as a sales agronomist. In my position we assist growers throughout the year and help them with seed, fertilizer, and chemical. I grew up on a farm and occasionally get to sneak away from my job in the fall and help my brother and dad during harvest.
I like working in the ag industry because it is ever changing. I have only been working for five years and every year has been different. Some years are better than others, but we get to help people do the best they can do with the resources we can provide.
In some ways, I believe farmers and ranchers have the hardest work ethic and will do almost anything to keep things running. There are not many other careers where you put so much out and then pray Mother Nature helps take care of you. In other ways, farmers are exactly like everyone else. They work every day to take care of their families and they try do what is right.
One thing I wish consumers realized about farmers and ranchers is that we want nothing but good for the land we work on and the products we produce. We strive to produce the safest and healthiest food, fuel, and fiber. Farmers and ranchers are always willing to answer questions from consumers!
