Take Back Washington
North Dakota Farm Bureau is co-sponsoring a “Take Back Washington” event on February 12, in Bismarck that will bring together concerned citizens from across North Dakota to voice their frustrations and concerns about what is happening in Washington, D.C.
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) will be the keynote speaker at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel event. Rep. Bachmann is known for her unwavering, conservative voice and commonsense approach to issues like health care, taxes and government regulation.
“Now more than ever, Washington needs to be reminded that the government answers to the people, not the other way around, and I’m proud to stand alongside North Dakotans who understand this fundamental principle,” Rep. Bachmann said.
The event features panel workshops throughout the day on Agriculture, Economic Growth & Taxes; Health Care; Energy; Preserving the Family; and Protecting Second Amendment Freedoms. Rep. Bachmann will deliver her keynote after the panels and the Johnny Holm Band will provide entertainment in the evening.
"I’m encouraging all Farm Bureau members to bring a friend to the Take Back Washington event," said NDFB President Eric Aasmundstad. "YOU are the focal point of this event. Come out and tell Washington of your frustrations with higher taxes, out of control spending, government over regulation, health care reform, heritage areas, and the other concerns you have."
The event is being coordinated by the North Dakota Republican Party. Other cosponsors are the National Rifle Association, the North Dakota Family Alliance and Citizens for Responsible Government.
