A Christmas story

‘Twas the Thursday before Christmas and inside the house,
I was baking and cooking for my kids and my spouse.

The smell of chocolate goodies wafted through the air;
I wanted to bring smiles to my brood living there.
And while I was baking, there was supper to make,
Cheese buttons and sausage. Sorry, no steak!

When suddenly I realized something wasn’t quite right;
My cell phone was missing, it was nowhere in sight.
