Dinner, information and Farm Bureau

Topic: Leadership

By Haley Robison, NDFB Southwest Field Representative

I love it when a plan comes together!

On September 22, Farm Bureau members from southwest North Dakota hosted the first District 9 Young Farmers and Ranchers Fall Round Up. I started my career with NDFB in January, and this was the first big event I was able to take part in planning. A special thanks to Jessica Dukart, the District 9 YF&R Committee Member, and the counties that hosed the event, Adams, Bowman, Dunn, Hettinger, Golden Valley, and Stark. A solid group of 15-20 dedicated Farm Bureau members started meeting early this spring to plan the event. We decided the purpose of this event was to bring together young farmers and ranchers from southwest North Dakota to network and learn about becoming involved with NDFB.

As the event drew nearer, I felt anxious yet excited for the evening out. The stress of worrying about people showing up and plans being executed sat in the back of my mind; however, with such a great group of people to work with, Jessica and I were able to finalize all details for the night while the county board members worked hard to get sponsors and recruit people for the event.
