Failures bring opportunity

When I look around our farm and ranch it is not hard to be convinced that fall is definitely here. Thankfully it has not presented itself with the significant early October snowfalls that much of our state has seen the past couple years. For me personally, it seems to be the time of year that I assess my successes and failures.

Failures are often the hardest to address, but I feel I have come to a place in my life where I realize it does no good to “sweep them under the rug.” Complaining to others can often lead to self-pity, anger and disgust. I have made a concerted effort in these past few years to try and look at every failure as an opportunity for growth. After all, the definition of insanity is doing the same task and expecting a different result.
