Honoring animal agriculture for NDFB Week

Bismarck, N.D. – NDFB is proud to announce that March 9-15, 2025, will mark NDFB Week, a time to honor the agricultural contributions of our county Farm Bureaus. This year’s theme, “Celebrating North Dakota Animal Agriculture,” highlights the essential role animal agriculture plays in our state’s economy and communities. Through a variety of educational and awareness activities, we’ll showcase the importance of livestock to North Dakota’s agricultural legacy.
County Farm Bureaus will hold events throughout the state, including ag trivia, fundraising events, and more. For a full schedule of activities, visit www.ndfb.org/fbweek.
Art Contest: Barnyard Bunch — The Awesome World of Animal Agriculture
As part of the celebrations, NDFB is hosting an art contest for 4th and 5th graders. The contest, titled “Barnyard Bunch: The Awesome World of Animal Agriculture,” invites young artists to highlight their favorite farm animals and their contributions to North Dakota agriculture. Participants are encouraged to include one fun fact about their chosen animal to educate and inspire others!
Contest Guidelines
- Open to 4th and 5th-grade students.
- Artwork must feature at least one farm animal (e.g., cow, pig, chicken, sheep, or goat) and showcase its role in agriculture.
- A written fun fact about the chosen animal(s) should be included, such as what they produce or why they are special.
- Creativity is encouraged! Use crayons, markers, colored pencils, paint, or other drawing materials.
- Artwork must be on an 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper.
- Include the student’s name, grade, school, and contact information on the back of the artwork.
Prizes
Winners will be selected from each grade in the following categories:
- Creativity and originality of the theme
- Quality of artistic composition and overall design
Each winner will receive a $50 prize and have their artwork published in NDFB’s newsletter, Focus.
The artwork must be submitted to the NDFB Bismarck office by March 7, 2025. Will will be announced during NDFB Week, March 9-15, 2025.
