Listen to NDFB Executive Vice President Jeffrey Missling talk about the recent donation to the South Dakota Farm Bureau Cares fund.
The North Dakota Farm Bureau Foundation and several county Farm Bureaus have donated more than $7,500 to the South Dakota Farm Bureau Cares fund. The fund was established following staggering livestock losses due to the surprise October blizzard, named “Atlas,” that hit western South Dakota and parts of southern and southwestern North Dakota.
“So many of the impacted ranchers were too humble and proud to ask for help, despite the utter devastation they encountered from the blizzard. The South Dakota Farm Bureau Cares fund will make sure that impacted ranch families get the support they need as they rebuild,” said NDFB Executive Vice President Jeffrey Missling.
In addition to a donation by the NDFB Foundation, Pembina County Farm Bureau, Towner County Farm Bureau and McIntosh County Farm Bureau all donated to the cause.
“We have heard there are other planned contributions from county Farm Bureaus and when those donations come in, we will forward them as well,” Missling said. “We are happy to help get these needed funds to ranchers who have unique needs after such a significant loss.”
The NDFB Foundation was established by the North Dakota Farm Bureau Board of Directors in 2002. Directors of the Foundation are members of the North Dakota Farm Bureau board of directors. For more information, go to www.ndfb.org/foundation.
