NDFB Foundation helps wildfire victims rebuild

Created: 3/17/17 (Fri) | Topic: Events

Tragedy can hit at any time. It can take your life’s work, your future and your dreams. The wildfires in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas brought heartache to the agriculture community.

“Near or far, farmers and ranchers are family and NDFB stands strong in helping those who have lost what they have worked for their entire lives,” said NDFB President Daryl Lies. “Through the NDFB Foundation the ‘Dakota Cattle Drive 2017’ is being set up to help raise money for farmers and ranchers who have been met with devastation.”

The NDFB Foundation is accepting heifer donations, through the help of sale barns across the state, with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to help producers impacted by the wildfires.

Heifer donations can be accepted during the allotted date at the following sale barns:

Rugby Livestock Auction, Rugby – Monday, April 3
Lake Region Livestock, Devils Lake -- Tuesday, April 4
Kist Livestock Auction, Mandan – Wednesday, April 5
Napoleon Livestock, Napoleon – Thursday, April 6
Stockmen’s Livestock Exchange, Dickinson –¬ Thursday, April 13

Monetary donations made to the NDFB Foundation between now and April 20, 2017 will go directly to the “Dakota Cattle Drive 2017” relief fund.

“Help bring the cattle home and provide an opportunity to rebuild what has been lost,” said Lies.
