Created: 10/02/13 (Wed) | Topic: Leadership

North Dakota Farm Bureau has hired Pete Hanebutt as the organization’s Director of Public Policy.

“Pete has a magnetic personality that I know our members will appreciate,” said NDFB Executive Vice President Jeffrey Missling. “He has a calm demeanor yet pours his heart into his work and is not afraid to speak out on important issues.”

Pete will publicly represent NDFB on legislative and regulatory issues. He serves as an issue strategist and analyst and assists in the public policy development process of county Farm Bureaus, along with coordinating special and ad hoc committees.

Pete has over 20 years of experience in public policy within the Farm Bureau system. Pete left Indiana Farm Bureau as their Political Education Specialist. He graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in animal agribusiness.

“The best thing about Farm Bureau, across the country and in any state, is the ‘family of members,’” said Pete. “Moving to North Dakota gives my family a chance to be in a more rural state with the prospect of making a meaningful and professional impact for Farm Bureau by applying my twenty years of experience in a new setting.”

Pete and his wife Diane have two boys, Parker and Paul, and plan to settle in one of the outlying communities surrounding Bismarck.
