NDFB to participate in enviro and tech forum

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring will lead federal officials on an environmental and technology tour and conduct two community forums, Thursday and Friday, Oct. 6-7.

The purpose of the event is to show Environmental Protection Agency officials the latest in agricultural production technology and techniques, and to give farm groups an opportunity to discuss federal regulations and policy with the people who implement those policies.

The EPA officials are James Martin, Region 8 administrator, and Jennifer Schuller, agriculture advisor for Region 8.

Commodity groups, agricultural associations, soil conservation districts and others have been invited to the public forums. NDFB plans to participate.

The tentative schedule looks like this...

Thursday, Oct. 6
8 – 10 a.m. - Ag Group Roundtable – Seven Seas Hotel, Mandan
10:30 – 11:30 a.m.  - Chad Berger Feed Lot Tour
1:45 – 2:30pm - RDO John Deere in Bismarck (showcase GPS technologies and advancements)
3 – 4 p.m. - Ron Aberle Farm near Menoken

Friday, Oct. 7
8 – 9:45 a.m. - Ag Group Roundtable Discussion, Ramada Plaza Suites, Fargo.
10:45 – 11:45 a.m. - Kent & Keith Bartholomay Discovery Farm Tour, Embden
2 – 3 p.m. - Titan Case IH in Moorhead - showcase sprayer technology/precision agriculture.
