NDFB Week Safety Tip #3

Created: 3/10/10 (Wed) | Topic: Education

Grain piles and bins are a serious hazard on the farm and are not acceptable places for children to play. It takes just a few seconds for a person to be pulled under a flowing mass of grain, which can quickly lead to suffocation.

It only takes 3-4 seconds to become trapped in flowing grain, and in 8-10 seconds, you can be completely covered by grain.

Kids should never play or ride in grain wagons, grain trucks, hopper bottom semi-trailers or any type of grain or feed storage area.

Just say "no" to children playing around grain stored on the farm.
