Pizza drawing winners announced
Topic: Events
BISMARCK, ND – Telling agriculture's story one slice at a time was the theme for NDFB Week, March 12-18, 2023. The theme originated from Special Assignment Pizza, a program spearheaded by the NDFB Promotion and Education Committee. The purpose of the program is to help kids learn more about where the ingredients come from for their favorite food – Pizza.
To help celebrate the week, fourth and fifth grade students from around the state participate in an art contest. Students used their artistic skills to draw their favorite pizza and how each ingredient is tied to North Dakota agriculture.
Two winners in each grade were chosen in the following categories:
- Creativity and originality of the theme
- Quality of artistic composition and overall design
The fourth-grade winner for creativity is Brayleigh Goldade of Rugby, N.D
.
Fourth-grade winner for artistic composition is Preslee Steichen of Tower City, N.D.
The fifth-grade winner for creativity is Elijah Gaffney of Stanley, N.D.
Fifth-grade winner for artistic composition is Charlotte Marxen of Mott/Regent, North Dakota.
“The creativity and imagination shown through the art contest is a delight to see every year,” said Lisa Hauf, NDFB Director of Public Relations. “Helping students learn where their food comes from is important for North Dakota agriculture. It’s even better when the students can have fun while learning about it.”
Each winner will receive $50.
NDFB Week was celebrated throughout the state by county Farm Bureaus. Counties sponsored meals or coffee, played ag trivia in their communities, held Special Assignment Pizza events, and brought awareness to the importance of North Dakota agriculture.
