President, directors elected

Underwood farmer Doyle Johannes was elected to his second two-year term as president of North Dakota Farm Bureau during the 71st annual meeting at the Ramkota in Bismarck, November 22-23.

Johannes and his wife, Patsy, have a diversified small grain and row crop farm near Underwood. They also operate a custom backgrounding feedlot. They have three children.

Chris Brossart of Wolford was elected to his second two-year term as vice president. He and his wife, Jennie, have two children and raise wheat, canola, barley soybeans and pinto beans on their farm. Brossart also serves as the District 4 Director.

Elected to the District 6 position on the board is Daryl Lies of Douglas. Lies and his wife, Kim, raise pigs, sheep and goats with an emphasis in seedstock and show animals. They have two children.

Directors re-elected to three-year terms on the board were Nathan Green of Glasston representing District 1 and Chad Weckerly of Hurdsfield representing District 5. Green and his wife, Melissa, raise sugarbeets, hard red spring wheat, navy beans and soybeans on their farm. The Greens have three children. Weckerly and his wife, Tessa, raise wheat, barley, soybeans, pinto beans, corn and sunflowers on their farm. The Weckerlys have three children.

Val Wagner of Monango was re-elected as Promotion and Education Committee chairman. The committee chairman holds a position on the NDFB Board of Directors. Val and her husband, Mark, have a Simmental and Red Angus commercial beef farm and raise corn, soybeans, wheat and alfalfa hay. The Wagners have four children.

Elected as Young Farmer and Rancher Committee chairman is Levi Taylor of Ypsilanti. The chair of the YF&R Committee holds a position on the NDFB Board of Directors. Taylor and his wife, Brianna, raise corn and soybeans and have two children.

Other NDFB Directors are John McConnell of Casselton, representing District 2; Tom Christensen of Verona, representing District 3; Wes Klein of Hazen, representing District 7; Kirk Olson of Arnegard, representing District 8; and Carson Kouba of Regent representing District 9
