The graphic above shows the tremendous increase in crop yields made by American farmers since the 1950s.

American farmers are growing more and feeding more people with each passing decade. And they are doing it on fewer acres, with improvements to our environment. A 50% reduction in soil loss since 1982. Crop yield increases of 360% since the '50s.

Modern production tools like global positioning satellites, biotechnology, conservation tillage and integrates pest management have all contributed to farmers and ranchers productivity, while reducing ag's environmental footprint.

That's good news for all of us. 

In a world that continues to grow, it's good to know that the efficiency of our farmers and ranchers is keeping us well-fed and clothed and that they are sustaining and protecting our environment at the same time.
