Rural resilience training
Topic: Education
The Rural Resilience Training Program was developed by Michigan State University Extension and designed for individuals who interact with farmers and ranchers to help recognize signs of stress and offer resources.
The online training program is now available at no cost for all Farm Bureau members and staff. We encourage you to promote the online learning. It provides participants with the skills to:
- Learn the warning signs of stress and suicide
- Understand the sources of stress
- Identify effective communication strategies
- Reduce stigma related to mental health.
State/County Farm Bureau staff and members can register for the online training here.
The timeline to complete the training is estimated at 4-5 hours and does not need to be completed in one session.
If you have questions about AFBF’s Rural Resilience efforts, including this training opportunity, please contact the AFBF Rural Stress Working Group at RuralResilience@fb.org.
