The town halls, billed as “The Food Dialogues,” will run from noon to 4:30 p.m. EDT. They are being held in Washington, D.C., New York City, Fair Oaks Farms in Indiana and at the University of California-Davis. USFRA Chairman Bob Stallman will be on the Washington panel. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will speak in Washington. Noted New Orleans chef and restaurateur John Besh will host the New York session. Claire Shipman of ABC News will serve as the moderator.
During the event, USFRA will release the results of two national surveys that polled farmers and consumers about food and farm issues.
