The no rain zone

Topic: Education

by Dawn Smith-Pfeifer, NDFB Content and Communications Director

Crisp. Golden brown and fried. No, I’m not talking about the perfect French fry. I’m talking about my lawn. (Thank you for the opener, Lisa Hauf!!)

This morning, the rain gauge held .07 inches. And that includes a little bug body that, if I’m being honest, I didn’t remove because it makes me feel better about the total in the gauge.

That .07 inches is the most rain we’ve had in one shot on our two little acres north of Bismarck in over a month. Last week, it was .03 inches, including the bug. Before that, we watched several showers part shortly before they got to us and dump their moisture north and south of us.
