Tractor and ATV training coming to Washburn

NDSU Extension is scheduling a farm safety camp at the North Dakota 4-H Camp from May 31 through June 2 near Washburn. The camp will serve as the certification program needed for 14 and 15 year-old youth to work in the agricultural field operating farm equipment for someone other than immediate family. In addition, North Dakota Parks and Recreation will conduct a four-hour ATV safety certification program.

Charge for the camp is $135 and includes lodging, meals and materials. The camp will begin at 10 a.m. on May 31 and conclude at 5 p.m. on June 2.

Registrations will be accepted until May 13 at 4 p.m. The program is open to all youth ages 14-15 years old. Youth who are 13 can participate, however the license will become valid only when the youth reaches his or her 14th birthday.
