Your state, Your future, Your Farm Bureau
North Dakota Farm Bureau will be celebrating its 71st anniversary during its Annual Meeting, November 22-23, at the Ramkota in Bismarck. The theme for this year is, “Your state, Your future, Your Farm Bureau.”
“This is an exciting event for North Dakota Farm Bureau each year, because our voting delegates engage in a lively debate on issues that are critical to the future of our industry and organization,” said NDFB Executive Vice President Jeffrey Missling. “Our voting delegates are charged with the key duty of developing and adopting new policies for our organization, and we are proud to be one of very few organizations left in the world that trusts in its members to this extent.”
Saturday night’s banquet speaker is Damian Mason. Agricultural crowds love Damian’s funny, ag themed material but they respect his advocacy for the agricultural industry. There’s no denying Damian’s agricultural record - raised on a dairy farm, degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, owner and operator of a beef, grain and hay farm.
The annual meeting opens with an awards luncheon on Friday and will be followed by NDFB President Doyle Johannes’ annual address. The delegate session starts Friday afternoon and continues through Saturday. Friday night ends with a live auction to benefit the NDFB Foundation.
Saturday will include elections for three directors who serve on the NDFB Board. In addition, elections for NDFB PAC directors and Promotion and Education Committee members will be held. Saturday afternoon includes the discussion meet finals, where the winner will have a chance to compete in San Antonio, Texas at the American Farm Bureau Convention in January.
